Modern systems for
homes and developments

STS installs fully certified wastewater systems that meet the latest environmental standards and support planning approval. Formally assessed by Natural England, our work is recognised by local authorities across the UK. We help homeowners replace outdated septic tanks and provide developers with nutrient mitigation for sensitive catchment areas.

From tank upgrades
to planning support

We replace outdated septic tanks across the UK with modern, regulation-compliant Package Treatment Plants (PTPs).

For homeowners, that means peace of mind, long-term compliance, and a cleaner local environment.

For developers, our nutrient credits unlock planning approval in protected catchment areas.

The UK has a growing
water quality crisis

Pollution from outdated septic systems and sewage overflows is placing increasing pressure on our rivers and planning system. Across the country, local authorities are being forced to restrict new development to protect fragile catchments.

At STS, we’re tackling the problem from both ends — upgrading existing systems and unlocking sustainable growth through nutrient mitigation.

Guided by advice from Natural England

STS has been through Natural England’s Discretionary Advice Service (DAS), a formal, chargeable process providing detailed environmental advice on nutrient neutrality mitigation schemes.

As part of this process, Natural England confirmed that Local Planning Authorities can rely on the STS scheme when undertaking Appropriate Assessments, giving certainty to developers, planners, and homeowners.
